#10. What's your favorite makeup brush?
Finally, a short and sweet answer, because hands down, my e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush is my absolute favorite.
I use this brush daily to apply and blend my liquid or cream foundation but it can also be used to apply powder, blush or bronzer, buff in mineral makeup, blend contours- so many uses! To top it all off, it's so inexpensive you can literally buy 10 for same price you'd pay for one MAC brush!For those of you that have never tried e.l.f. brushes, be aware: they're not top quality. I've had to glue more than one ferrule back on, and on some brushes the shapes and bristles are inconsistent (I have two of the same e.l.f. Eye Shadow Brushes that are shaped so differently, they're basically different brushes!) So why in the world do I love my Studio Powder so much? Well, the bristles are soft and secure (I don't get strays sticking to my face, which is more than I can say about my MAC brushes!) and the shape- large, dense and flat-topped, is unique. And for $3, I don't really mind a little at-home reinforcement.

xD Oh ELF brushes. I remember when I started on makeup and I bought them thinking that people were silly for buying the more expensive ones. Now that i've PICKED UP the more expensive ones I've been apologizing non stop to my face. The bristles are really just too scratchy for me.
Granted - I've not tried any of the ELF Studio brushes. Just the regular line and the bamboo kind. One brush from ELF that I do swear by is the blending eye brush from the regular line. It's softer than the face brushes and is a great little domed number. <3

The Studio brushes are all synthetic taklon, which is very soft. As a matter of fact, I recently bought a similar shaped Italian Badger brush from Crown and it's so scratchy, it's actually somewhat irritating to my face!
Bristles, including synthetics like Taklon, do wear over time, and will become more stiffer and more brittle, and thus, scratchier. I actually just had to pitch of my past favorite brushes, which was made of Kolinsky sable (prized for it's suppleness) because after over 15 years, it was just too rough for the eye area.
I really think each makeup line has strengths and weaknesses, and brushes are no exception. The majority of my brushes are from prestige brands; some are great, some are not (my MAC face brushes shed every time I use them, but my MAC shadow brushes are OK).
I chose this particular brush because I really do use it daily. It's a unique shape I haven't been able to find a duplicate of- high or low end. It's very versatile, and definitely for the price, it can't be beat!
What are your current favorites? I'm always looking for new brands to try, and as I mentioned, haven't been thrilled with some of my recent brush purchases!

that brush is actually my favorite one for foundation as well. I recently just picked up a 2nd one. I hate how easily the ferrel loosens from the handle though!
