Sayonara to Shu Uemura

Cosmetics giant L'Oreal announced this week that it will be closing operations of it's Shu Uemura brand in the US market, in order to focus on it's key luxury brands; Lancome, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehl's and Georgio Armani.

Shu Uemura, which was acquired by L'Oreal in 2004, does about 80% of it's business in Asia, and the products (which include the cult favorite eyelash curler and luxe false lashes) will still be available to US consumers via Shu Uemura's website, so don't expect this shift to hurt the company too much.

According to the press release, though Shu Uemura is found in approximately 100 stores across the US, it only employs around 26 people. L'Oreal has said that it will make every effort to place affected employees within other L'Oreal US brands.

The Rest of This Week's Sales:
StriVectin, Mally Beauty, Bare Escentuals,
and more!

So sorry to keep y'all waiting! Today I cooked my first Seder, so the entire day was spent running around from one grocery to the next to buy supplies. Cincinnati isn't exactly known for it's Jewish community, therefore, I had to round up Kosher for Passover food from 2 different stores which were a half of an hour apart!

Even though I ran out of time to make the honey glazed carrots & parsnips, and my brisket was overcooked (a good sauce hides a multitude of sins!) it was still a lovely start to the holiday! For those of you celebrating, Chag Pesach Sameach. For everyone else, have a great week!

HauteLook is, as usual, our busy site this week. They debuts StriVectin this Tuesday, March 30th, followed by Laurence Dumont Fragrances and LightStim Skincare on Wednesday, Kaé Argatherapy on Thursday and basq Skincare on Friday.

Gilt Groupe has one shining star this week, Mally Beauty, which appears on Tuesday. On Wednesday the 31st, Rue La La hosts Bare Escentuals.

Editor's Closet pitches in this week by presenting both Aloette and Shē Essential Beauty on Tuesday and Pür Minerals on Friday, April 2nd. If you're not already a member, click here for a personal invite to join!

Have fun shopping! Don't forget to follow me on Twitter for daily updates, and check back later this week for my full review on Sugarpill Cosmetics- including details about the future of the company from the creator, Amy (aka: Shrinkle) herself!

Monday's Sales (More to Come...)

Just to keep you guys busy tomorrow, here's a tiny little list of the sales starting this Monday, March 29th. I have to apologize for being so absent lately- I'm going on 3 weeks of being laid up with a lovely bit of asthma complicated respiratory ickyness- all while taking care of a 2 year old who's also under the weather!

That's the bad news. The good news is that you can look forward to the rest of this week's sales later in the day on Monday, and at long last...my profile of the buzzy new brand: Sugarpill. I've tried the products, talked to the creator, and I'm gonna dish this week!

In the meantime:

Check out HauteLook's DoshaCare and Baby Quasar sales to start out the week, then jump over to Ideeli for Elements5. I also feel like I should mention that Ideeli will also be featuring Tarina Tarintino on Monday. A newcomer to the beauty arena, Tarina is adored by many a fashionista for her whimsical, lighthearted accessory line. Since her makeup line is still fresh off the presses, I'd be surprised if we see any beauty in the sale, but it's worth popping in regardless- pretty is pretty, and accessories rarely hurt!

For now, have fun shopping, and don't forget to check back for the rest of this week's steals!

This Week's Sales:
DDF Skincare, Three Custom Color, Stila and more!

The sale sites gear up for "prom season" this week, but even if us big girls don't get to get dressed up in pretty poofy dresses and eat at the Olive Garden, all is not lost. Take advantage of some great deals while the kids are still in school!

Monday is the busy day this week, with many sites posting their sole beauty sales right at the head of the week. Gilt Groupe has Mario Badescu, Rue La La features DDF Skincare and Beyond the Rack has Sari by Ocean.

Editor's Closet also throws down on Monday, March 22nd with EnPointe Skin Solutions, and caps the week with J de l'O Organics, Jingles Professional and The Marilyn Brush all on on Thursday, March 25th. If you're not already a member, click here for a personal invite to join!

Another big Monday sale starts out a busy week over at HauteLook when they host a Three Custom Color Specialists and Butter London double feature, followed by Biotherm Skincare and Luminess Tan on Tuesday, Stila on Wednesday, Juice Beauty on Thursday, and Acorelle Organic Fragrance on Friday.

Finally, if your winter scent has your co-workers gagging in the elevator, head over to Row Nine for their Ladies' Spring Fragrances event on Tuesday, featuring Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and Alfred Sung.

This Week's Sales:
Rock & Republic Cosmetics, Blinc, Provence Santé and more!

Happy March everyone! While lots of sites seem to be having huge blowout sales to make room from spring merchandise, beauty sales are pretty few and far between this week, with the exception of HauteLook, who may just be trying to kill me with all of the activity! On Monday the site hosts KROIA Beauty and Rock & Republic Cosmetics. Tuesday they have EViS MD followed by Blinc on Wednesday. On Thursday the site features Emjoi Beauty, Hand Perfection Beauty, and Modern Alchemy by D.L.& Co. before quieting down for the week on Friday, when they host Pür Minerals.

Elsewhere, Beyond the Rack has DaLish Cosmetics starting Monday, March 1st and on Thursday over at Editor's Closet you can catch Provence Santé. If you're not already a member of Editor's Closet, click here for a personal invite.

As of right now, that's it. I'm a bit wary that Gilt Groupe doesn't have any beauty sales listed (though I'll be there for the starting bell of tomorrow's Kate Spade sale!) I'm sure we'll see that corrected before the week is through. While I try to jump on and slip in any mid-week additions, make sure you're following me on Twitter for instant gratification!
